My SS flex pipe came from the same source Dave. Lifespan seems to be
inversely proportional to amount of bend in it. I now use it only
for vibration isolation (perfectly straight) and the same piece has been on the
plane for over 300 hours. When I used it for bends I had to replace it in
less than 50 hours.
Just got my 20B exhaust system back with Jethot 2000 ceramic
coating. Hope it works as well as it looks.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Flexible Exhaust
Pipe.. Tracy?
I just got some flexible exhaust pipe from JC Whitney. The stuff is
pretty neat, it is very flexible (though will not make an extremely tight
bend). It was inexpensive, and made of 304 stainless. It is also
light weight.
So the only questions are how well will it hold up, and how to
attach it to the rest of the exhaust system.
Tracy, I understand you have been using flexible pipe and it has been
holding up OK. I just want to make sure you are using the same
stuff. Here is the link to what I have:
Is that the same stuff you are using? Has it really held up?
My plan for installation is to have u-joint flanges welded on. Any
better ideas or tips?
