First, for the record, I'm not yet flying. But I do have about 11 hours
on the Hobbs. I'm monitoring my CHT's on my 20B with thermocouples
glued into small holes drilled into the webs near each spark plug. The
holes go all the way down to where they just barely touch the steel
liners. I believe this method will provide the most reliable CHT
readings, negating most of the cooling effect of the EG.
I am currently using the fourth TC to monitor the gearbox temps. I left
the TC lead longer than necessary so I can relocate it to monitor
whatever I want in the future.
