Sounds like the right thing.  Looks like = you could=20 set it to let the door down very slowly but not restrict the opening = speed or=20 vice versa.

A control = valve that=20 does exactly as Lynn suggests is available .  One source is www.northerntool.com =  part #=20 2055.  I used this valve on the dolly that I made to carry my = plane to=20 the airport for the reasons discussed.
