It was a "stupid" - possibly partly on the part of
OSH Ground, but certainly on the part of the Avenger
pilot. There's just no good excuse for not knowing
that the way ahead is clear, when on the ground, of
all places.

Mixture of extreme types of airplanes...ultralights to P-51...all over the place.
Why the $$$$ is any aircraft having to do S turns to see what is ahead? Any plane without full forward visibility should either A) be towed to the run-up area, B) have walkers at each wing tip, or C) not be allowed to move. It's called positive control, and if there aren't enough resources to maintain positive control then the event needs to be scaled back until they are put in place. This isn't a local grass strip fly-in, pilot's shouldn't expect to move around as if it were, and the organizer's shouldn't expect that a cavalier, laissez faire attitude won't get people killed. I for one will do my part to insure that it does not grow any larger until the right mindset is instilled in the organizers.
