That's a bonus. The main reason was to avoid having to install the promised AC system before summer. :) >Give us a dump of how the trip went. OK. A quick one. Got away late in the afternoon and made it to Florence, SC as it was getting dark. My wife (Char) was following in the "chase truck" with 2 dogs, 2 cats and a fish. Checked into the Holiday inn. After driving through the night, Char rolled in just as I was getting breakfast, borrowed the shower then set off Northward again. I flew on to SFQ to refuel and ended up spending time with Wayne Hicks and LongEZ builder Steve. Didn't get airborne again till 4pm. Big mistake. When I got to overhead JFK a fogbank had rolled in and covered the whole of Long Island. I couldn't get hold of flight watch, so I put her down in Old Bridge, NJ and waited for Char to catch up. Finally arrived in Connecticut (by truck) at 3:30am. I'll go back and retrieve the plane next week sometime, when the weather clears. Most of the trip was done on 93 mogas. I added 15 gallons of 100LL at FLO and topped off with 87 mogas at SFQ. The engine ran purrfectly the entire way. > Snuck out of Florida and headed North without any of us knowing it - > cool move, just before official opening of Hurricane season {:>). > Give us a dump of how the trip went. > > Ed > > > ----- Original Message ----- > *From:* John Slade > *To:* Rotary motors in aircraft > *Sent:* Saturday, June 03, 2006 8:41 PM > *Subject:* [FlyRotary] Re: Another case of heat-soaked coils? > > >Hope the guy that brought this to mind (John Slade) heard it.
