I've been talking to David Statten about the mogas frappr map. He told me about a webpage that shows mogas locations.

It's interesting that mogas is readily available in the eastern half of the country but almost non-existant in the west.
A lot of the places shown are seaplane bases, which are useless to me.
In California, I recently tanked up in Modesto, that is the only place shown in all of California that is not a seaplane base.

Anyway, I would like to expand the mogas frappr map into a new direction.

I've found that mogas locations are just too few and far between. In my travels, I've had to use the internet to contact people along my route who are canard builders or flyers or otherwise EAA types to help me obtain mogas.

I'm proposing we use the mogas frappr page and expand it, call it M.A.N. or Mogas Assistance Network. This will consist of people coast-to-coast who are sympathetic to us mogas users who will help us obtain mogas when we travel.

In 2002 I flew my rotary plane from Oregon to Kansas and back, via Montana. EAA folks in the Billings chapter helped me obtain mogas both coming and going.

In 2005 I flew from Oregon to Kansas via Ogden Utah, and Cozy builder Rick Irwin helped me gas up.

Recently I flew to Columbia CA and LongEZ flyer Steve Emley helped me obtain mogas in Klamath Falls OR.

And there is a LongEZ builder in Logan Utah who will help me obtain gas this coming summer on another trip to Kansas.

There is a Subaru Cozy IV from southern California who will stop here in Oregon on his way to and from Seattle next week, Al Wick and I will help him obtain mogas.

So I suggest we start M.A.N. and advertise it on all the internet lists associated with homebuilding, EAA, rotary engines, canards, etc.

People can put their name and contact info on the map, so when we travel, we can contact the people on our route to help us obtain mogas. The benefit for the helpers is they get to see some interesting homebuilts and meet some fellow travellers in this hobby.
