Subject: [FlyRotary] Hotter spark
plugs
Learn something new every day...
Through a little googling I found out there are
hotter plugs available for the RX-7. Standard 2nd gen plugs are BUR7EQ leading
and BUR9EQ trailing. However these are considered "cold" for highway driving.
For street the "hot" plugs are
BUR6EQ leading and BUR8EQ trailing.
See the Mazdatrix website.
Has anyone run the BUR6EQ/BUR8EQ combination in an
airplane? I've run the standard 7/9 combo for years now, except I tried the
platinum versions once, hoping for longer life (didn't happen). I expect the
hotter plugs may have shorter life, but might do better burning
through 100LL deposits?
