Early on I took some 0.065 SS tubing drilled = holes in it and and squished it down to form "fish tails". They = certainly made a difference even though they were only 18" long. One = fell off during taxi after doing some repair work at Tracy Crooks on one = visit and Tracy immediately noted the difference in sound. The only = problem was while it reduced the exhaust note from "ear shattering" to = "Damn loud" it was still too loud. =20 But your idea would be cheaper than the cones - if only I had a welder = and could weld (keep meaning to do something about that).
