On the other hand, I must tell you (if not
already apparent) I LIKE tinkering with my set up - one of the reason I went
this route. Heck, with a Lycoming I would be bored to tears and broke
{:>).
Hi
Ed,
I
appreciate your perspective on all this. Believe it or not, I chose
pursue this because of the reason you mentioned above. The RV-8 just
bolted together, and flew like it was supposed to. There were no
surprises at all with the (new) Lycoming. Yep, kinda boring
:-) All my life, I've built or restored things, cars, planes, etc, and
everytime I get them finished, I get bored and want to move on. My hope
was that the RV-3 would be a project that would keep me occupied for years to
come.
While I
don't mind tinkering with it for years, I feel the need to quickly get in
the ballpark of where I need to be. It's getting hard to answer
the daily question of "why is this better than a Lycoming". Let's see,
besides being overweight, ugly, and having a fraction of the performance
of an O-320... Maybe I can post no trespassing signs around
my hanger :-)
Thanks,
Rusty
Ok
Rusty,
Being somewhat more aged and mellow, I've sort of forgetten some of the
motivators {:>). Your d...n right we need to show those Lycoming guys
