Believe it or not, I chose pursue this because of the reason you mentioned above. The RV-8 just = bolted together, and flew like it was supposed to. There were no surprises at = all with the (new) Lycoming. Yep, kinda boring :-) All my life, I've built = or restored things, cars, planes, etc, and everytime I get them finished, I = get bored and want to move on. My hope was that the RV-3 would be a project that would keep me occupied for years to come. =20 =20 While I don't mind tinkering with it for years, I feel the need to = quickly get in the ballpark of where I need to be. It's getting hard to answer = the daily question of "why is this better than a Lycoming". Let's see, = besides being overweight, ugly, and having a fraction of the performance of an O-320...
