In my area, the auto salvage yards don't remove them, you have to pull = them=20 from the car yourself=2E The disadvantage of this is that you have to do the= work,=20 the *advantage* is that you can be careful, and be assured that there is les= s=20 damage to the core=2E
 
Ask for the section with full sized GM cars from the 80's and early=20 90's=2E
 
Stand in front of the vehicle with the hood open=2E In the left corner,= near=20 the firewall, there will be a Black plastic cover, often having a blower mot= or=20 as part of it=2E  When you remove that cover, the core is exposed and i= s=20 available to be pulled out=2E Doesn't take very long, but do it before the w= eather=20 gets cold=2E
 
I think the GM cars had one or two suppliers each year, and used the sa= me=20 core for all full sized vehicles=2E
