Most likely it is adjustable = probe.

It's 1/8" NPT thread and = the probe can be adjusted for depth of protrusion in the exhaust pipe. = You can weld the bottom part with the 1/8" NPT thread permanently into = the pipe and still use the adjustable feature with the probe
