I have been thinking about your apparently less power than you expected for a given manifold pressure (ie. 30 in Hg) and thought of a few points you may not have considered.   You were disappointed that power seemed to be anemic at 30 in. compared to what you would expect an n/a engine to produce at WOT.  However, with the turbo, several things change.

You're points are all well taken, and I can't wait to hook that EM-2 up to see what my intake temp is, but the real mystery got solved when I noticed that my climb rpm was only 4700 with 3psi of boost.  It was probably only 4300 or so with 30 MAP, and no rotary makes significant power at that rpm.  All along, I've pretty much assumed that I'd have to make 31 inches or so (just guessing) to be even with a good NA setup.
