Pix are of the 4 port auto engine. Note that the RX8
engine comes with a "aircraft installation friendly" waterpump already built
into the front cover. No longer any need to cut and weld!
The 4 port
is a much better proposition for aero application (IMHO anyway) than
the 6 port - Mazda rate them at nearly 200 Clydesdales @ 7,500
RPM IN THE CAR. The 6 port is rated at around 240 + BHP @
8,500. Only difference is the later port closing timing of the 6
port.
By removing the cat converter and the mufflers should add another
30 - 40 - BHP. Judicious inlet porting (there is plenty of meat (see
pix) to open up the inlets) could add quite a few more. (Better
than trying to make the 6 ports flow properly without the barrel
valves).
I curently have one RX-8 engine left for sale and expect to
have another shipment in 6 weeks. Should anyone want one,
let me know. FOB price is currently $9,551.20 AUD (plus approx $600
Airrfreight & Insureance - delivery within 7 days anywhere in the
world)
I also have some BRAND NEW FD5 ('96 - 2000 RX7) REW 13B
turbo engines with auto conunterweight.. FOB Prices for these are
$7,300 AUD plus freight etc.
ALL these engines (both RX8
and FDs) are BRAND NEW factory crated "bare long"engines. (with sump
but no manifolds or ancillariies - RX8 engines have waterpump on front cover
- see pix).
