A 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 w/ 5.3 L engine uses the D581 coil. Here are the p/n's I know: 12558948 D580 igniter 12558693 D581 igniter 12569111 wiring harness (all 4 coils) for D580 coils 12102754 mating plug w/pigtail to 7 pin connector on 1256911 The 12569111 p/n is no longer valid. I don't know what the new number is. The mating connector for the D580 coil is a Delphi 4 pin Metri Pack 150 sealed connector. They can be purchased from Waytek in an odd assortment of pieces, or from me in a convenient pack of four. :) I also found this information on the AC Delco web site. Using the 2002 Silverado, I searched for 'coil'. Two ignition coils are listed, D581 and D585. Three connectors are listed, one is the 7 pin connector, one is a 3 pin connector presumably for the D585, and one is a 4 pin connector Delco p/n PT1627 which crosses to GM p/n 88987184. This is PROBABLY the correct connector for the D581, but it runs $36+ and Nobody seems to have a picture of it. I don't know if you wanted to know all this George, but I thought I would summarize everything again. I still have no clue as to what the D581 connector is or where to get it commercially. Tracy's solder to the pins and pot it sounds real attractive. Bob W.
