Granted Rusty...... No seal material will save you when things get hot enough
to melt the bearing material !! We are talking oil temps probably no more than
the mid to high two hundred F range where the Viton seals start to break down
 and harden.......IMHO

 Hi Kelly,

I found the message I was looking for, and here's a link to the archive:

Maybe this will safe Lynn some typing.  If I understand correctly, he's saying that the failure from overheating the oil will be a rotor bearing.  I "assume" this is with stock Mazda oil seals, and not even Viton.

Don't get me wrong, I don't see any reason NOT to use the TES o-rings, and I'll probably plan on using them for the next engine I assemble.  In the mean time, it would be great to hand a set of these to Lynn or Leon, and let them give us a professional report.  Both of them assemble more engines in a year than any of us will in a lifetime, and their engines get run hard, so it would make a good test.  I would happily contribute toward a set of o-rings that we could GIVE to either of those guys.

Cheers,
Rusty (rounding up all the RV-3 stuff)
