Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: Teflon O ring
sizes.
The TES O-rings for the rotor side
seal have been previously sizes by
Paul Lamar so I will give credit where it is due.....That said several of
the group
have had problems with the sizes for the coolent seals..........To settle
this once
and for all I sent a 13B side housing to "Creavey Seal" to be
properly sized for
coolent seals........The following are the sizes that "Creavey' has on
record for
the 13B.........It is thought at this time that the "Renesis" seals are
the same size
but we are not sure yet........I ordered all my seals with the higher
temp. PFA
Teflon........The outer coolent seal which does not see as high
temps. could be
ordered with the lower temp. Teflon and would save a dollar or so
per seal.....
..There is some question in the group as to the necessity for any or all
of these
seals........I consider their use a relatively inexpensive upgrade of the
oil and
coolent seals even if they are probably overkill especially the outer
coolent
seal as it does not see the extreme temps. of combustion that the inner
seal
and rotor side seals are exposed to.........FWIW
