Hi Tracy,
Since you're on your computer this
morning, could give a brief summary of what changed in the EC2 code
for the latest turbo upgrade? Timing? mixture?
Yes, very brief.
The ignition timing advance curve for below ambient and boost retard has
been refined. Same story for the fuel curve. The MAP table
has been spread over a larger range of manifold pressures.
Without getting into a boring discussion of software algorithms, that's
all I can say.
I got my chips today and am wondering what
to expect when I install them.
Regards,
john
In view of your past experience, me too!
(sorry, couldn't resist). Seriously, there is no specific thing that
would be overtly noticeable. If it works, the engine will be easier to
tune, there will be subtle improvements in fuel burn and it will be
less likely to detonate. This does not mean 'detonation proof '
however.
As I mentioned in the note with the chips, The down
side is that you will need to start from scratch with auto-tune because
the MAP table is now on-board the processor chip rather than in a separate
chip as it was before.
