The Odyssey batteries = are so very good that it could be charged on the ground periodically, and = would be good when you needed it (hopefully never). Still thinking about = this, but it would mean adding 15 pounds in the baggage compartment, rather = than 5 pounds in the tail. =20 - Finally, the RV-3 doesn't have counterbalanced elevators. This just = seems terrible to me, since I was used to the fully balanced controls on the = RV-8. I've given some thought to adding counterbalances to the elevators, but unfortunately, that's not the simplest of modifications, and there are aerodynamic concerns with the way the tips are made.
