Have you checked with Finn Lassen to see what weight his bird is?  Your turbo accounts for approx 35 lbs but not having to haul a muffler system probably saves you about 15lbs.

Thanks for the weight Finn.  The two big killers for me are the turbo, and the radiator.  I wouldn't be surprised if the radiator weighs 50 lb full of water and oil, and it has a 10 lb fan hanging on it.  There's also the possibility that the "B" wings are heavier than the old ones, though I don't see that it could be much.  I also need to call Van's and ask about the gross weight of the "B" version of the RV-3.  With the new wings, they may allow a higher gross, though I doubt it.

I have to go check the scales again because I still don't believe this.  The scales themselves are accurate when I stand on them, but the arms that are being used to divide the weight are new, and I've never used them before.  I also think I should have put a piece of wood on the scale to spread the load of the arm, rather than letting it contact in one area.  I should be able to stand on the platform and verify that the scale shows half my weight.

Hopefully, your  rough engine is as simple as a fouled plug.  Is it rough at all speeds? Ok at idle rough at higher rpm?

It gets better as the speed increases, but it's not "spooky smooth" like I described it before.  Until I do some tuning, there is no idle.  It won't run below about 2000 rpm, but this is something that Tracy is sure is a tuning problem.  I would like to start working on tuning the engine this weekend, and I've been whining as hard as I can to get Tracy to send me the new firmware.  He now offers an option of using his actual engine parameters as a default, instead of the normal factory default (which is still an option).  That would put me in the ballpark quickly.

Waaaaa can I have my firmware now Tracy :-)

Always some last minute things to get fixed.  Good Luck

Thanks.  I've already ordered another fuel gauge for next weekend.  Sure hope it lasts longer than the 5 minutes I got out of the last one.
