Bill,
That price is very good, however do you plan pulling it down to do an
inspection ?
George ( down under)

I plan to borescope it at the very least. I'll also cut open the oil filter and perhaps analyze the oil in the filter.

Rupert <tannrup@bigpond.net.au> has 20 more six-port Renesis engines as well as 20 four-port Renesis engines on hand. Apparently, none of these engine has ever been in a car. Rupert tells me that they were "test engines", but he has no idea what they were testing and how many hours are on them. He has had one local customer install one in a car with an after-market ECM system. Says it is running great.

If I were to guess, I would think that these engines were some sort of pollution test program. I'm guessing this because mine looks like it has never seen a wrench, other than the oil plug.

>>>>> RX-8 Fuel injectors <<<<

The fuel rail and injectors are ultra sexy on this engine. They look very lightweight. I think I would be wise to keep the stock injectors and fuel rails. They are somewhat buried under the intake manifold, but attached is a picture.

Looking at the engine close up, I can see why there is so much chatter on the list (and discussion in THE book) about manifold construction. It is going to take a major effort to fabricate a compact, lightweight, effective manifold. The stock manifold is truly a beast.
