Group Like my opinion on fuses & CBs redundancy is at the top of my list. I spent the morning on a redundant CAS, still haven't completed but it is basically a second CAS grafted to the top the first one (without the long shaft & with a 0.250" spacer) some accurate machining required but doable.

Hi! Rusty
Yes that's the cover I have, It has 2 problems. One you cannot use a belt driven water pump( as you can see in the photo)you have to have a thin adaptor or drill & tap the top of the housing to fit fittings for a EWP, secondly the gasket shape appears to be the same but one cover mounting bolt is in a different spot (But workable). I just received a second igniter & am about to check the possibility of adapting it on top of the first one (one driving the other) . I imagine that the 12a front iron isn't compatible with a 13b, other wise that could be a possibility ( you probably would have to use an EWP because the 12a pump housing is huge cast iron affair) . I'll let you know what I come up with.

George (if you're still here, since I haven't seen a post in a while) and Georges,

What ever became of this?  I pulled my CAS Sunday to replace the leaking o-ring (my irritating oil leak I hope), and got to thinking about these twin distributor covers.  Unfortunately, I asked Leon if he had a picture, and he did (doesn't he always).  I'll attach it here.  As you can see, it does appear that the cover will bolt up to a 13B housing, but the problem will be obvious :-(

Is this the same as the cover you saw Georges?  Were there others covers that had two distributors?  I sure would like a second CAS...

Cheers,
Rusty

Georges,
The answer is YES!

 Hi! Guys
I was just snooping around my neighbors vehicle cemetery (a collection of about 150 vehicles from the early 1900's on) I found an old Mazda wagon (model 124 engine 12a) The engine has 2 distributors, does any one know whether the front cover from  a 12a will bolt up to a 13b ? I would like to have redundant igniters if I could.
