-the other photo is why I decided to spend my money on a welder, rather than on a welder.  Tom does very nice work.  His welding hood has magnifying lens and he welds barehanded.  Well, that impresses me at least.

Looks a little better than mine, but so far mine hasn't broken :-)

Was this TIG welded?  How does he keep his hand from getting that arc induced sunburn?  Man, I played with my TIG welder for about 15 minutes when I first got it.  I read all the warnings and such, and figured they only applied to people who did this hours a day.  The only thing I took seriously was the eye protection.  Of course I was in short pants, kneeling on the floor.  Afterwards, I had the worst "sunburn" of my life.  Lasted for about 2 weeks.  I just welded an electric flap limit switch bracket a few minutes ago.  It was a tiny job, but I put on the leather coat, gloves, helmet, lead cup <g>, etc.  Lesson learned.

Cheers,
Rusty

PS- Tracy will catch up eventually.  Auto tune will temporarily delay him, but when everyone has it, he should have more free time :-)
