Yes. I was able to delay things a bit by richening the mixture, but not for
long.

Sure. This is something I may have to deal with. I have two batteries, and
the pumps are supplied direct from their respective battery busses. To
charge the left (backup) battery I need to engage the contactor, but this
makes this battery vulnerable to any electrical problems that might occur.
Running the left pump will discharge the left battery if it's not being
charged. I'm a bit torn on what to do here.
