Anyways the filter was on (below) a Continental O(il leak)-200 and eventually saturated with engine oil to the point that it blocked too much airflow and the thing got sucked into the intake tube. Compressed foam does not let through a whole bunch of air. So I staggered along at a 100 mph to the next airport because the engine lost most of its power. So keep those filters from collapsing. regards Marko -----Original Message----- From: Rotary motors in aircraft [mailto:flyrotary@lancaironline.net]On Behalf Of Bartrim, Todd Wanna buy a slightly bent, sorta straightened K&N?... cheap? ------=_NextPart_000_02AA_01C32AE3.C3B270A0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable RE: [FlyRotary] air filters?
About=20 air filters:
I flew=20 a while with a cheap foam filter, the kind that has a cup shaped foam = piece help=20 in shape by a spring. Anyways the filter was on (below) a = Continental O(il=20 leak)-200 and eventually saturated with engine oil to the point that it = blocked=20 too much airflow and the thing got sucked into the intake tube. = Compressed=20 foam does not let through a whole bunch of air. So I staggered along at = a 100=20 mph to the next airport because the engine lost most of its power.=20
