Tracy mentioned that there was a valid part number for the Renesis
engine now, so I emailed Mazdaformance to ask about price and
availability. Here’s their reply. Oh, and for the record, I’m
not looking for one.

Everyone keeps asking for a Renesis engine...can't imagine why. 8-)
The engine price is set at $5757.95...based on my experience with
Mazda...no individual will be getting one while the car is being released for
the first time. They generally have stock for warranty and they have
stock for the Star racing program.
After about 60 days general public release should happen.
Provided everything goes smoothly.
Now, when Mazda starts to offer a rebuilt engine the price will come
down...but the Core Charge is still going to be about $1000.
