I think my 20B stock pump is black steel, just like the 2nd gen engines
but bigger and turns opposite, I think. The 3rd gen has an all alum
water pump of different design than the 2nd gen. As the 20Bs were pre
3rd gen (about to 1990 or so?) they followed Mazda's current practices
at the time, I believe it was a progression thing. And the 20B used a
pulley mounted fan on the pump, whereas the 3rd gen uses 2 electric fans
and no pump fan.
