I've been keeping my own mini archive in a subfolder of Outlook and using the "find" feature. I recently had over 4000 messages (60mb) and did a real thorough cleaning, deleting all messages to old hurdles. I was trying to free up more drive space on my old PC, but I said to heck with it and just bought a new laptop. This is far better now with this on-line archive. A few questions about it though. Is there a "Do Not Archive" feature? Or do still filter messages manually? Many messages have your name as sender. Is this because you have to edit them for "quote backs"? I notice the only time that my messages appear this way is if I forget to trim the "quote Back"? I would prefer to see the senders name on the email as there are certain members who are more experienced and have much valuable information as a resource for the rest of us. It would just make it a little quicker to sort through the search results. At other times, I can vaguely, remember an item but know who sent it. It is useful to be able to quickly sort by sender. Keep up the good work & thanks for this new tool. S. [Hi Todd, First of all, the messages that show up with my name on them is because I've had to edit them. I never touch the sender's content, just eliminate the quotebacks. Unfortunately, there's no way for me to trim them without having to send them from my own address... I wish there was an alternative, but there isn't. The sender's name is still always in the email, though, it's just not in the headers. You'll notice in this post it starts out with a "Posted for...." and that's because I moved it into the back room to clip the earlier text you left behind, answer your questions, and stick in my own 2c . As for the "do not archive" feature... nope, there is none. I don't have the time to remove posts from the archive just because someone has included a "do not archive" directive in their message... if you don't want it in the archives, don't send it. One of these days I'll import all the old stuff and then we'll really be cookin'.... If there's anything else I can do just let me know, I'll try to address all suggestions. ]
