Thanks for the additional fiberglass comments.  I still have the wad of clay
that I used for the intersection fairings on the RV-8, but I fear that my
cowl bump may be larger than normal clay size.  I won't really know until I
get the cowl cut to fit around the intake.  I might get to that by the end
of this week.  It would be nice to get that horrible job out of the way.  

For the record, I'm somewhat allergic to polyester resin, which is why I
generally hate fiberglass.  I used to think it was all fiberglass, until I
built the RV-8.  Van now uses epoxy resin for the cowl, and canopy skirt,
and I noticed that I didn't have any problems working with those parts.  On
the other hand, one sniff of the wing tips, or other polyester resin parts
starts the reaction.
