Greetings,

Well, I've had = a busy day,=20 but the engine is sitting in my garage now.  Just from looking in = the=20 exhaust port, I can already see that the major malfunction is = behind=20 door (rotor) #2.  There's about 3 ounces of oil in the bottom = of the=20 rotor housing, and the exhaust pipe is similarly coated in oil.  = Rotor #1=20 seems dry, but I doubt it remained unscathed.  I plan to = tear the=20 engine down tomorrow, and will post the=20 results.

My current plan = is to send=20 the rotors to Bruce, to let him get them ceramic coated.  I'll = probably also send him the stationary gears so he can press in=20 new bearings all around.  I anticipate needing to have my = side=20 housings replaced, or machined and re-nitrided.  =

Has anyone = got any=20 particular recommendations for a shop to do the work on the side=20 housings?   New housings = are about=20 $350-$400.   Would the machining and re-nitriding cost = significantly=20 less?  If so, that may be the way to go, since the porting is = already=20 done.

I'll know more=20 tomorrow.

Cheers,
