Hi Dave,

Keep in mind that Lynn probably knows more about how to use the rebuild kit than the people who put it together.

BTW, attached is the rotor weight and compression chart.  If your original engine was an 89-92 turbo, then you may have lucked out.  Otherwise, you'll be swapping that rotor out (assuming the second engine was in fact an FD).

Rusty (fingers crossed)

Thanks Rusty...

When I purchased the 3 motors en block, the seller was under the impression that all were FC's.. however he had not done any teardown and frankly I am at a loss to determine the difference looking at the external aspect of the 4 port FC's and FD's...The only clue that jumped out at me was the corner seal springs, otherwise they looked and felt similar (no scale handly). Other than that, the only other difference was in the amount of metal removed from the portion of the rotor between the bearing and the side seals. The second engine's rear rotor had just a slightly larger amount of material removed from it, I am presuming for balancing purposes.

With regards to Lynn's comments.. then hopefully I got lucky with regards to apex seal installation.. since we are developing pretty good "thumb compression" ..

Based on reviewing the chart, I am hoping I got lucky then with regards to the rotors. If not, now is the best time to try and "fix" it.. Hmm.. Maybe I will let Chris do the first startup on the engine (Grin)....(Yes, I know he reads this...)
