Jim; The Marcotte redrive that I have is a 2.02 ratio. It is the first
Mazda unit. I purchased it 4 1/2 years ago for 2700.00 American dollars.
(3700 canadian). I'm now assembling the aircraft, which is a Wittman W-10
Tailwind. The Wt. is 35 #, complete unit. Engine and redrive wt. is 241
w/pan and water pump. With all the information that I could acquire from
the Rotary site and the RV an Tailwind sites, Fred Felix carved a 68x71
prop, which he figured to be good for a cruise of 193mph, We'll know more
about that, when we get in the air, looks a little fast to me. The phone #
I have for Guy Marcotte is 418-362-2569, fax 4418-362-2460. There was some
discussion on this site, as I recall, about a year ago and it was stated that
the price was near 6,000, which is a lot more than I paid. Don't know for
sure if this was $ or Canadian. It was also mentioned that Guy was
recommending an auxiliary tank of a pint capacity for the 80W hypoid gear
lube. This isn't figured in the unit weight that I gave. Hope this is of
some help to you. JohnD

John,
Are the Marcotte drives still available?
I would be very interested in any info you could give
about the Marcotte drive. How much does it weigh by
itself? What is the gear ratio that you are using?
Have you flown with it and in what type of aircraft
etc? When did you purchase it and for how much?
Thanks,
Jim Maher
