I really don't understand those rearward placed
scoop on the engine to wing fairing.  I normal
flight they would be buried deep withing the
boundary layer, ingesting mostly turbulent air.  In
climb they'd be totaly washed out and in the
seperated region.

What are they feeding that would make this a good
location for an intake scoop?
