I hope you are right, Rusty. Taxi test does
indicate increased performance, but then when have given points for taxi
performance {:>).
I keep my plane chocked all three wheels when in
the hangar and even considered tie downs, but decided that if the hangar
departed the tie downs probably would not do much good.
Well, hope both you and Paul get nothing but wind
and rain (in amounts you can accommodate of course).
Since I have no power at the hangar, I carry a 8KW
generator around in the back of my Workshop Van. So if power goes out at home, I
just open up the Van's side door hook up an extension cord and fire it up.
It kept Fridges, the TV and a couple of lights going for 12 hours last time we
were without power. Well worth the investment in my book.
Good Luck on your EWP

Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: No flight with
Monster Prop today
Well, looks like no
flight today. Reported 1200 overcast and looks lower, not idea for any
flight, much less a test flight. IVAN will take care of the rest of the
week, sigh.
Bummer,
but don't they say good things come to those who wait? Considering
how long you've been waiting, it should be a great
flight.
Looks like
Paul's getting his "wish" for Ivan :-) I just re-installed the EWP
yesterday, and will check today to see if any of my new welds are
leaking. After that, I'll see if it's possible to tie some ropes to
keep the planes in place if the hanger doors depart. I've always thought
there should be tie downs inside hangers, but I've never seen
any.
BTW, we'll
be staying here though the storm. I've been though about a dozen storms
in my life, so I know what to expect. Our house is well built,
though a direct hit will surely destroy our screen room (again), and probably
the new vinyl privacy fence. I've been amazed that I've never even had a
cracked window, despite the fact that I don't board them up. We won't
have any flooding either, since we're "high" at 35 ft elevation,
with an expected surge of 25 ft. You'd think I would have bought a
generator somewhere along the line though :-)
Cheers,
Rusty
