Well, looks like no flight
today. Reported 1200 overcast and looks lower, not idea for any flight,
much less a test flight. IVAN will take care of the rest of the week,
sigh.
Bummer,
but don't they say good things come to those who wait? Considering
how long you've been waiting, it should be a great
flight.
Looks like
Paul's getting his "wish" for Ivan :-) I just re-installed the EWP
yesterday, and will check today to see if any of my new welds are leaking.
After that, I'll see if it's possible to tie some ropes to keep the planes
in place if the hanger doors depart. I've always thought there should be
tie downs inside hangers, but I've never seen
any.
BTW, we'll be
staying here though the storm. I've been though about a dozen storms in my
life, so I know what to expect. Our house is well built, though a
direct hit will surely destroy our screen room (again), and probably the new
vinyl privacy fence. I've been amazed that I've never even had a cracked
window, despite the fact that I don't board them up. We won't have any
flooding either, since we're "high" at 35 ft elevation, with an
expected surge of 25 ft. You'd think I would have bought a generator
somewhere along the line though :-)
Cheers,
Rusty
