I still gotta come up with $11K USD for my wings . This also give me some time to observe the info on the new Renisis. Didn't even occur to me that this was rated around 240hp WITH all the emisions junk on it (ok, environmentally friend equipment). Will be curious what it will get without the "extras". I spoke with Fred at Conversion Concepts. I ordered an engine mount from him for my 13b Velocity project. He stated he believes the new Renisis engine will mount the same as the later model 13b's. Do you have any insight/confirmation to this? Anybody....Bueller? Bueller????? Hey Tracey, Did you put the decimal point in the wrong spot?? An ADDITIONAL $22,500.00?? I assume that is USD. The whole PowerSport package is only worth that!! MUST be some mistake!! For that amount of money (in Aussie dollars even, NOT US geenbacks!!), you could afford to buy a "top of the line", fully optioned (including dual Lambda meters) Motec M800 or an Autronic SM2 Engine Management System (both under $5,000 AUD). That still leaves enough left over for a fully optioned 50 channel Motec ADL Advanced Data Logger and dash (under $10,000 AUD). With the spare 10 Grand change, you still almost have enough left over to buy a BRAND NEW Renesis RX8 enigne ("Bare Long" - no accessories or manifolds) in a Box for $10,990 AUD FOB Sydney. In case you didn't catch that last bit, I'm Serious!! I have access, via special arrangements with my local Mazda Dealer, to two BRAND NEW Renesis RX8 engines, available end of April for $10,990 FOB Sydney. At current conversion rates, that's about $6,800 USD at current exchange rates. Anyone want one?? These motors have 10:1 rotors, make 246 BHP (184 kW) @ 8,600 RPM, blowing through cat converters and 86 dB mufflers. So get rid of the mufflers and the cat converters and there HAS to be another 50 or 60 BHP lurking in there. Couple one of those up to Tracey's PSRU, a nice set of exhaust pipes and a discrete muffler (won't need much due to the side exhaust ports - which will give better BSFC to boot), derate the engine back to 7,500 RPM and you would still have 250 neddies available!! So IF what you say IS true, I wouldn't be worrying to much about obsolete 215 BHP PP 13B packages anyway. Stay tuned, things are about to get REALLY interesting on the rotary front!!
