However, when measured, my the solenoid on my new starter pulls more than 10 Amps! So I left my 30Amp RadioShack relay in place. Mys starter switch is only rated for 5 amps (at 120 VAC). Why, in all of Bob Nuckol’s wiring diagrams, is there a starter contactor switching the heavy current to the starter?  There is already a contactor in the solenoid.  What am I missing here?
