OK, I give up!!!
Chapter 7(B) page 7(B)-75 has a note in figure 7-N-1 which states:
NOTE: refer back to page 7-23, step B.3 for alternate method (easier) of setting
horiz. stab. incidence of -1.2 to -1 degree.
Nowhere in my manual is there a page 7-23... there is a page 7(A)-23 and a page
7(B)-23, each with step B.3....neither of which relates to setting HS incidence.
Elsewhere, step J3.5 on page 7(B)-67 states:
"The correct incidence range is when the LE of the chord line is 5/32 - 5/16
below the TE chord line as measured at a butt line point where the fslg fillets
end. Simply establish this relationship and the incidence will also be
established.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but whoever wrote this must have been out to
lunch!
Seems to me that the HS negative incidence must be established relative to the
level line of the main wing as per the full size drawing E. BL-50 rib pattern,
PERIOD.
Am I missing something basic here?
