In the last couple of newsletters there was mention of radio noise when the
hyd system cycled. One mention of a work around to eliminate the noise. The
work around is beneficial because it saves on point arcing beside lessening
the radio noise. The work around is to install a diode in opposite direction
of the current flow in the power to the relay (+ side to ground). I think
these diodes should be installed on every relay in the plane, starter,
flaps, master,hyd pump, hyd pressure switch, etc.) I like the big bead type
because the pigtails are substantial and easy to work with. and will handle
any surge in the high amp circuits and work as well in the light circuits;
they are cheap. Grumman did this on their planes.
