I do remember hearing about a timing change on Lycs but I don't remember if it was an AD or a service bulliten that directed that change nor do I remember which engine models were affected. I can only guess at the final temps you might might experience as a result of retarding the timing on your engine. That's nearly total ignorance and not much help to you now. As a beginning you might research the AD's on your engine and then follow up with a complete check of the Lycoming service bulletins, service letters and service instructions pertaining to it, as well. Unfortunately that is something of a less than appealing project. Given that problem, you may decide to visit your favorite old-timer IA who has a shop and ask him. I will keep you in mind and ask around. Simply publishing these letters may get the response you are looking for. Thank you, Marv! The engineer at GAMMI might be able to help you. Have you thought of buying GammiJectors? I hope this gives you some direction, Walter Dodson >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
