Great results on your cruise speed increase but I would bet big money that
none of it was due to the winglets.  The only way to know for sure is do
back to backs, winglets on/winglets off with your new injector setup.  My
dad (93 years young, still fly's and rides a motorcycle believe it or not)
has sworn by Marvel Mystery Oil for as long as I can remember.  He has it in
everything he owns and everything he owns lasts forever, perhaps he drinks
the stuff too.  Also, since you are running gammi injectors and running lean
of peak you are making more horsepower from that too.  Between the Marvel
and the lean burn I am guessing you are putting out around 400 HP (350 HP
Stock) max and approximately 232 HP instead of the stock 203 HP at 58%
power.  An extra 30 HP is good for about 12 KTAS.  This would account for
your 7 kt increase plus another 5 kt penalty for the winglet.  Hard to
compare this stuff without using the exact same setup each time you test.
Hopefully this issue will be settled once we refly Derek Hine's airplane at
CAFE with the winglets installed.
