Unfortunately I do not have any pix on my site, although I think that
visiting it is a good idea for other reasons. The door is quite simple. I
took a small piece of 2ply prepreg and made a piece that can be bolted to
the BH with 4 nutplates. It extends slightly above the BH. It has a piano
hinge that attaches to the upper half. This is formed to match the inside of
the fuse at that point. A small spring makes it flop forward.
The latch is a sliding plate which catches a pin made from a cut off
bolt. It is pulled by a length of left over rudder cable. It is located by
nylaflow and cable ties in ClickBond cable tie bases. The loop is simply
cable looped back on itself and crimped. A bit of heatshrink in the loop
segment prevents frays from hurting fingers.
