Why you say? Well, I decided to get current again, fly and have some fun while awaiting the Legacy kit! I need to keep my proficiency up, plus I wanted some "modern equipment" for a change. I'm very happy with it, and also with my recent ICOM IC A-23 handheld transceiver purchase. I plan to use this as "redundant" or "back-up" equipment in the Legacy of course, so not a waste of $$. How in the heck did you pull that off with a big check to Lancair looming in the near future? Well, the discussion (a.k.a. "negotiation") went something like this: Spouse: I love the necklace you bought me for our wedding anniversary! Me: Ah, it was nothing ... Spouse: I never no what to get you ... Me: Well, you know how I sometimes get lost on those family vacations in our mini-van and refuse to stop and ask directions ...??? Spouse: Oh, yes indeed! Me: Well, they have this new product (GPS 295 w/MapSource) that will ensure that we will never get lost again! Spouse: How wonderful! Why don't you order one for you for your anniversary present! Me: Hey, that sounds like a great idea! Oh, and BTW, I understand that it will work in airplanes, too ... Dana Westphal Legacy Kit #59 PS. Luckily, she never asked the price, and, I used it first for a (demo) trip to the Big Easy ... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
