Sorry, Curt (Curtis Krouse, that is), I'm hangared at Coeur d'Alene, ID and
the state requires an annual aircraft registration and fee. It isn't very
steep however: 1 cent per pound based on gross weight. My 235 has 1550 lbs
on the papers I submitted to the FAA (I know, that's more than the Lancair
book numbers, but for reasons I prefer not to elucidate, that's what I used)
so that's the gross weight I pay for. It amounts to $15.50 per year. As an
escapee from California a couple of years ago, I pay it gladly! Hangar rent
is only about 20% of what I was paying in LALA land too! I like it!
Incidentally, if you base your airplane here, you can get a 10% (approx.)
discount on fuel if you pay ahead - say $100 - 200 at a time, at the FBO on
the west side of the field. Southfield Fuel, I think it is. They give you a
credit card that feeds into your account. The receipt shows you how much
credit you have left when you fill up.
C'mon over!
Dan Schaefer
