However, drilling a new hole in the mounting bracket to put another quarter turn on the spring and to eliminate it from rubbing on the drum has worked for us. Drill the hole about an inch below the original one and slightly inboard to clear the drum. Also, bend a little hook in the end of the spring to prevent its escape from the hole.
