I had almost the same exact experience during a recent trip to Alabama (see:

AM/FM Radio Interferance</A>)  Doesn't take much circuitry to receive AM 
signals.  Try flying the same area again and when you get the unwanted 
signals, turn your ANR headsets off.  I was not able to try this since I did 
not get a chance to fly over the same area again.  Please let me know what 
happens...
