Yes, CG is often expressed as a percentage of MAC. For a homebuilder this is
next to useless. One of us needs to call the factory and get this critical
number in a format we can use, to wit, inches aft of the firewall, and post
it for the rest of us.
The Lancair manual describes where the datum is. I don't have it with me but
as I recall, it's one of the faces of the firewall. Don't recall whether is
the front or back side. Nor, if the front, whether it's at the plywood
surface or the stainless surface.
This is critical. Let's get it nailed down right. I'm too busy (on travel)
to call the factory today, maybe someone else can do it.
