In response to Dan's statement of:

Dan, the Commander 114, 114A (and probably the 112) single engine line's fuel system uses a left, both, right scheme. I've never run the fuel low enough to find out if a side "unports". The manual suggests that one take off and land in the "both" position. After take off and level off, it is suggested to switch to one tank and then alternate. If you leave it in the "both" position, it will cause an unbalanced situation after a while since it prefers to sip more from one side than the other. Another Commander owner I know doesn't change it on landing (he says that it has been working OK until then, so why change it).
