Run a tank dry at altitude. This will give you all remaining fuel in the other tank and reduce the likelyhood of unporting the wet tank in anticipation of a minimum fuel situation. If your totalizer is accurate this is also one of the best ways to measure useable fuel in a tank, just in case you are venting in flight and don't know it. Better test on the ground first to be sure your pumps will reprime from an empty tank/engine quit to restart. If it won't, better to find out on the ground. Oh yeah, I arrived at this after having my hands full, flying around under unforecast low weather in Wyoming where the airports and navaids are scarce, pre GPS. I landed on the tank with 2 gal., the other tank had 4 gal., makes you think. Andair has a check valve for fuel vents that is standard on the Legacy. Aside from minimizing venting fuel while taxiing it could save fuel in climb and uncordinated flight. It has about a .050 hole in addition to the check valve for expansion venting.
