I remember about two years ago, Cirrus (or maybe Lance) was trying to get the production plane IFR certified. That required lightning tests. If my memory serves, to pass testing, a layer of metal screen cloth had to be bonded to the wing skins and wicked. Good for dissipation, bad for internal antennas.
